Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) is a public limited company, promoted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and set up by All India Financial Institutions including IDBI, ICICI, IFCI, UTI and IFCI Venture Capital Funds Limited. BCIL was incorporated under the Companies Act 1956(Now Company Act, 2013) in 1990 with government in advisory role, development banks as major funding agency.
Applications are invited for the post of “Senior IP Manager” at BCIL
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. / M.Tech. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology from a recognized University / Institution
Desirable Qualification : Qualified Patent Agent and / or Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from a recognized Law College / Institute. LL.B. would be an added advantage.
Experience and Skills : 3-4 years of work experience in dealing with Intellectual property (IP) rights related tasks/assignments.
• Good experience in IP analytics and IP due diligence in all fields of life sciences especially coordinating prior art search, freedom to operate studies, landscape studies.
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of patent law, filing and prosecution in India and other jurisdictions
• Experience in working on formulation of institutional IP Policy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Work Profile :
• Conduct all IP analytics assignments (prior art search, freedom to operate studies, landscape studies)
• Coordinate with institutes for their IP management requirements including IP analytics; IP filing and prosecution; and IP advisory.
• Frequent coordination of meetings with law firms & institutions.
• IP due diligence for technology assessment reports
• Plan and organize capacity building programmes on IP
Age Limit : 45 years (maximum) on the last date of receipt of applications.
Salary : Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 80,000/- per month (Consolidated, commensurate with qualifications and experience)
