Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of  Bombay (now  Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India’s knowledge reserves in chemical  science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing. The then UDCT grew in stature over the years and was granted partial autonomy by the University of Mumbai in 1985, which was taken to the next echelon under the concept of autonomy propagated by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Title of Post: Project Assistants

Project Title: Direct capture of carbon dioxide from air
Project Description: The project focuses on pilot scale demonstration of direct capture carbon dioxide from air using various equipment's designed especially for the same.
Sponsor: Industry' Project
Principal Investigator: Dr. Manju Bishan Sharma, Dr. Vishwanath H. Dalvi & Dr. Yogesh H. Shinde
Project Duration: 3 months (can be extended based on availability of funds and candidates' performance)
No. of Positions: 2 (Two)
Desired Qualification: Bachelors/Master’s in sciences/Life Sciences /Chemical Engineering
Remuneration: Rs. 15,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Roles and Responsibilities: 
1. Conduct and manage all laboratory experiments associated with the project, beginning from the initial cold start-up phase and continuing through to the final stages of project completion, under the supervision of RA and guidance of the Principal Investigators (Pis). 
2. Managing data collection from different laboratory activities, analyzing the collected data, while ensuring comprehensive documentation of all project aspects, from the initial cold start-up phase to the final wrap-up, under the supervision of RA and guidance of the Principal Investigators (Pis).
3. Manage the data collection from the set up system and the laboratory and document all aspects of the project, from the point of cold start-up to wrap of the project under the guidance of PIs.


The Project Assistants will be appointed for a period of 3 (Three) months.
