CSIR - North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, a constituent establishment of CSIR, is a multidisciplinary institute having research areas like Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Materials Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Geological Sciences, Advanced Computation and Data Sciences etc. The institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art analytical and other equipment to carry out research activities in frontier areas of science &technology. Presently wide-ranging research activities are being carried out in CSIR projects as well as externally funded projects.

Project Associate-I (PAT-I)

Desirable : Work experience in synthesis of nanomaterials, nanocomposites, membrane design etc., and experience in characterization techniques like FTIR, FESEM, HRTEM, XPS, AFM etc.

Experience on translational research and industrial R&D related work

Desirable : Candidates with demonstrated research experience in the areas of CRISPR/Cas-based plant genome editing and functional genomics for plant stress tolerance and crop improvement; biotic/abiotic stress for climate resilience; hands-on experience on plant tissue culture regeneration & transformation techniques of rice will be preferred.
Age limit : Maximum 40 years
Emoluments : Rs. 42,000 per month + HRA

General Guidelines and Terms
1. Last date of application through online is 17th August 2025 up to 2 PM.
2. The link for application is available on the CSIR-NEIST Website along with the advertisement. Candidates may click on “CLICKHERE TOAPPLY for submission of their application.  
3. Interested candidates fulfilling the qualification of concerned Post Code may apply by clicking the “POST NAME”. Once application submitted, the Registration Number will be generated and displayed on the computer screen. The Registration Number will not besent in Mobile Number orEmailofthe candidate. Candidates are advised to keep the Registration Number with the Advt. No. And Post Code for future correspondence. Candidates are requested to download the registration form from the “DOWNLOAD”section of the portal and submit the signed copy at the time of interview.
4. Applicants are requested to follow the instructions given below the boxes while filling up the online form.
5. For each Post Code, separate application should be submitted.
6. Candidates are requested to bring with them all ORIGINAL TESTIMONIALS including Mark sheets and Certificates and also a Clear Photograph on the date of the interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered. The selected candidates are expected to join immediately upon selection.
7. The applicants will be subjected to the short listing by the Project Team based on the Academic performances and experiences and only shortlisted candidates will be called for Offline interview to be held at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat.
8. The tentative Date & Time of Interview is already given above. However the list of shortlisted candidates along with the FINAL DATE and TIME of Interview will be uploaded in the CSIR- NEIST website later.
9. Candidates need not pay any application fee.
10. During selection, due weight-age will be given to the academic performance and experiences of the candidates. The candidates should have knowledge of computer for day-to-day work.

11. Duration : The Project completion date may be extended/curtailed depending upon the grant of the Funding Agency.
12. Maximum Age : Closing date of the Advertisement will be taken into consideration (Relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Women candidates as per Govt of India/CSIR rules issued time to time.
13. The engagement will be on purely temporary basis for specific period. It is co-terminus along with the duration of the project and will not confer any right for regularization in the institute.
14. The maximum tenure of engagement of a project staff will be six (6) years considering the engagement in different projects either in the same institute or different institutes of CSIR.
15. Some selected Project Staff may be allowed to do his / her PhD work based on CSIR Guidelines.
16. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for the Interview.
