Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry Openings at NIPGR

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Senior Project Associate DBT project entitled “Development of in-silico platform for analysis of high-throughput Genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics data: Application to human/plant and its pathogens”, under the supervision of Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist, NIPGR. The details of position are as under:

Post : Senior Project Associate (one post)

Emoluments : Rs. 42000/- plus 27% HRA per month, as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification : Candidates having Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Plant Science / Life Sciences / Biotechnology or Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized university/institution or equivalent with 60% marks and Four year experience in R&D in academic and industrial or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services OR Doctor degree in Science / Engineering / Technology/ from a recognized university or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines of DST-OM number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020, are eligible to apply.

Desirable Qualifications : Candidates having research experience in the area of Molecular Biology, Gene Function analysis, Protein Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics, Metabolomics, Next- Generation Sequencing (NGS), Computational Analysis of Multiomics Data and Crop Genetic Improvement and gene-editing will be preferred.
Age Limit : The upper age limit of the post is 40 years. (shall be determined on the closing date of receipt of applications)

The above position is completely temporarily and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, and tenure of the post can be curtailed based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
