Title of project : Development of Sustainable and Indigenous Porcine Collagen Extraction Technology for Corneal and Bone Regeneration in Battlefield Injuries
Sponsor of the project : DIA- CoE, IIT Kanpur
Qualifications - Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science or in Professional Course in biotechnology or life sciences related areas, with qualified CSIR UGC NET or GATE. Candidate should have two years of research experience in the field of biotechnology/ biochemistry or life sciences related areas.
Emoluments : Rs. 42000+ 10% HRA per month
Duration : 36 months
Job description : Responsibilities include protein extraction, purification, and recovery from animal-derived and/or recombinant sources, with emphasis on optimizing pre-treatment methods, enzymatic hydrolysis, and downstream processes. Key skills required include hands-on experience with structural and chemical characterization techniques such as FTIR, SDS-PAGE, MALDI-TOF, XPS, NMR, and XRD. Experience in operating bioreactors, process optimization, and maintaining batch-to-batch consistency is essential. Prior work in tissue regeneration, especially in the development of collagen-based scaffolds will be considered an added advantage.
