Project Associate-II

Work Description : 1. Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components of web portals handling multimodal datasets (genomics, text, images etc.).
2. Design and implement efficient, scalable database architectures to manage high-volume data. 
3. Full-Stack Developer for Multimodal Database Development. 
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop features, and ensure seamless integration. 
5. Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability. 
6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in development and production environments. 
Desirable Qualification : Master’s in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Computational biology/Data Science 
1. Proven experience in front-end and/or back-end development of web portals or similar applications. 
2. Proficiency in Python-based frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask) or PHP-based frameworks (e.g., Laravel) for full-stack development. 
3. Strong expertise in MySQL or Hadoop-based RDBMS for designing and managing large-scale datasets. 
4. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Vue.js). 
5. Knowledge of RESTful APIs, version control (Git), and/or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus. 
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Work Description : 1. The project study involves the characterization of microbial diversity through metagenomics-based approach to identify/discover unknown (potentially) evolutionary lineages of various bacteria and viruses of northeast India, in the healthy individuals who are in close contact with the wild-life and livestock in the region. 
2. Perform molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, cDNA preparation, PCR, qRT-PCR, library preparation, high-throughput sequencing of the metagenomic DNA, RNA sequencing, etc. 
Desirable Qualification : Master’s in Biotechnology/Microbiology 
1. Hands-on research experience of genomics-based investigations of human samples from disease cohort. 
2. Experience with NGS protocols/instruments handling would be useful. 
3. Know-how of NGS data analysis would be handy.

Work Description : The candidate will assist in microbiology experiments, including preparation of culture media, handling microbial cultures, sample processing, maintaining sterile conditions, and performing basic laboratory maintenance. Duties also include cleaning and sterilizing equipment, assisting in recording experimental data, organizing supplies, and supporting researchers in daily laboratory tasks. 
Desirable Qualification : B.Sc in Laboratory techniques or natural sciences with relevant laboratory training. Basic understanding of microbiology lab practices, sterilization techniques, and safe handling of samples is essential. Good attention to detail, discipline in following protocols, and ability to work in a team environment are required. Prior lab experience will be an added advantage.

Project Associate-I

Basic Salary : 25000/31000 and HRA 
Work Description : The candidate will carry out wet-lab experiments focused on CRISPR-based approaches and the characterization of Cas enzymes. Key responsibilities include designing and assembling CRISPR constructs, performing bacterial culture, plasmid preparation, transformation, and gene editing, as well as screening edited and environmental strains. The role also involves conducting phenotypic assays, optimizing experimental protocols, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and analyzing experimental data. 
Desirable Qualification : Master’s degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, microbiology, or a related field. Hands-on experience with CRISPR systems, molecular cloning, bacterial genetics, and antimicrobial assays is required. Strong skills in sterile technique, plasmid construction, and bacterial transformation are essential. Familiarity with antibiotic resistance mechanisms is a plus. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, capable of troubleshooting experiments, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Senior Project Associate

Basic Salary : 42000 and HRA 
Experience Required in Months : 24 
Work Description : The Senior Project Associate will carry out experimental work on the characterization of novel Cas9 enzymes and their application in genome editing within eukaryotic systems. Responsibilities include designing and executing molecular biology and cell culture experiments, optimizing CRISPR-based editing protocols, assessing editing efficiency and specificity, and analyzing genomic outcomes. The role involves mentoring junior staff, maintaining accurate records, troubleshooting experiments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals. 
Desirable Qualification : Ph.D. or M.Sc with 3 years' experience in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, cell culture, microbiology or a related discipline, with strong expertise in CRISPR/Cas9 systems. Proven experience in genome editing in eukaryotic cells, mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, and genetic analysis techniques is essential. Familiarity with off-target assessment, next-generation sequencing workflows, and protein characterization is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are required.
