The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

Educational Qualification : Essential / Mandatory : Ph.D. (Biotechnology, Molecular biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Pharmacoinformatics, Bioanalytical sciences, Pharmaceutical sciences) or related field in life sciences with 2 years of postdoctoral research experience OR M.Sc. M.Tech, M.Pharm. in above mentioned subjects with 4 years of research experience.
Desirable
Research experience in vitro assays, in vivo disease models, and in silico approaches for drug discovery supported by advanced molecular, cellular, and pre-clinical experimental techniques. Candidates with skills in multi-omics, therapeutic validation and scientific writing with additional expertise in integrating Ayurvedic knowledge with modern biomedical research and its applications alongside conventional therapies will be preferred.
Job Responsibilities : Working in a state-of-the-art pharmacology and experimental therapeutics laboratory, the candidate will lead a small group of passionate researchers in the discovery and development of herbal drugs for cancer through design and conduct of experiments, conducting regular team meetings, preparation of progress reports and any other work assigned by the Principal Investigator. The selected candidate will also be responsible for managing and supervising the functioning of junior project staff. He/She will be the liaison and the primary point of contact for all project related activities and coordination with other departments/collaborators.
Consolidated Salary : INR 73,660/- pm
Duration : Six Months and Extendable. The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension after six months will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
