Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India’s knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing. The then UDCT grew in stature over the years and was granted partial autonomy by the University of Mumbai in 1985, which was taken to the next echelon under the concept of autonomy propagated by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Applications are invited for a ‘Research Associate-1’ position for RGSTC sponsored project under Prof. Shreerang V. JosJii. Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai for a period of three years.

Project title : Development of novel herbal haematinic oral formulation and evaluation of its effect on transferrin, hepcidin and hemoglobin levels

Remuneration : INR 37,000 + HRA (30%) for first 2 years, 42.000 + HRA (30%) for 3rd year
Duration : 3 years

Eligibility : M.Pharm/M.Tech/Pharm.D (Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and relevant field) graduates.
It is preferred to have experience related to prc-clinical studies and formulation development.

Job Description : • Planning, execution and analysis of preclinical and biochemical experimentations.
• Development and optimisation of formulation.
• Protocol writing and documentation.
• Data collection and statistical analysis.
• Any other activities related to the project work assigned by supervisor.
