Applications are invited from the eligible and suitable Indian nationals for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in ICMR funded project entitled “Investigation of novel squaramide based IL-8R inhibitors and bio-instructive peptido-hydrogels for simultaneous management of metastatic oral squamous cell carcinomas and oral mucositis” on purely contractual basis tenable at Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER- Ahmedabad. Tenure of the position is will be co-terminus with the project.

Emoluments : Rs. 56,000/- + HRA (15,120/-) = Rs. 71,120/-

Qualifications (Essential) : a) First-class postgraduate degree including the integrated PG degree. Or (b) Second-class postgraduate degree, including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D.

Desirable :
Chemical Science : The candidate with Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry / Medicinal / Pharmaceutical / Process Chemistry/ Industrial experience in chemical synthesis will be preferred. Candidate must have experience in multi-step organic synthesis, purification/isolation techniques using column chromatography, combi-flash, HPLC, crystallization etc. will be preferred. Should be well versed with characterization techniques including chromatography, spectroscopy (UV, IR, NMR, HRMS etc.). Peptide chemistry experience is preferred.
Biological Science : The candidate with first class in post graduate degree with Ph.D. in Life sciences / Biotechnology/ Biological sciences/ Industrial experience in biological science is preferred. A. At least 2 publications as first author in journals of repute The candidate must have experience in various techniques in molecular biology (animal cell culture, rt-QPCR, Western-blot, Flow cytometry, RNA extraction, Plasmid transfection, Imaging etc). Should have fair knowledge in transcriptome data analysis, RNA sequencing, cancer biology and Inflammation will be preferred.

Age Limit : Not more than 35 years on the date of 31-08-2025; (relaxable for OBC/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per the GOI norms)

Terms and Conditions : Initial appointment will be for six months which may be further extended subjected to the performance. The positions will co-terminate with the project. Service terms and conditions are as per the ICMR norms Leaves and allowance are as per the ICMR norms.
