Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.
Post : Research Associate (RA)
Applications are invited for One post of Research Associate (RA) with a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 56,000/- per month under Bridge Grant, Institution of Eminence (IoE) scheme of BHU (Grant No. SRICC/Bridge Grant/2025-26/3320) for 8 Months. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the Bridge Grant.
Essential Qualifications :
1) Only those research scholars who have done their Ph.D. from Indian Universities/Institutes with NIRF ranking of up to 50 (overall or in respective areas) or those who have done Ph.D. abroad in top 500 world ranking Universities (Q.S. or T.H.E.) will be eligible. Research scholars who have done their research in Institutions of National Importance are also eligible.
2) The candidates must have proven track record with published work of at least two papers in Q1 or Q2 journals or SCOPUS/ Web of Science listed journals.
Desirable Qualifications : The candidate should have prior hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques and they are expected to have prior experience in gene cloning and proteomics.
Candidates with research experience in Microbial Genomics/Cyanobacterial Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Metabolic Engineering/ Fluxomics and extensive experience with R and Python, MATLAB, scripting languages with PERL, C, C++, and R programming will be preferred and prior experience in computational biology tools is desirable.
