NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. Post : Senior Research Fellow

(i) DBT funded project entitled “Genomics assisted pathobiology to identify novel targets for diagnosis and therapeutic intervention(s) of Japanese encephalitis and Leptospirosis”. PI: Dr. Ravi Gandham, Co-PIs- Dr. Subeer S. Majumdar, Dr. Syed M. Faisal, Dr. Pankaj Suman

Eligibility: Post Graduate Degree in life sciences OR Graduate/Post Graduate degree in professional course having NET/GATE or selected through national level examination conducted by DBT/DST/MHRD/ICMR/IIT/IISC/IISSER. The candidate should have minimum two-year research experience preferably as JRF (Eligibility criteria as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014 and SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019). However, Non NET candidates can also apply who will be paid as per their eligibility (Duration - 6 months).

Fellowship amount: Rs.35000/-PM +24% HRA (if applicable) as per the DST guidelines.

Experience: Candidate with experience in Molecular biology and Immunological techniques, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and animal (mice, hamster) handling is desirable. Candidates having prior experience in working with JEV and Leptospira will be preferred.

Age: 35 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions)
