National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER - Raebareli) is an autonomous body which has been established under the aegis of the Department of pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, in the Government of India, to provide leadership in pharmaceutical Sciences and other related areas. It admits students for M.S (Pharm), programmes in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Regulatory Toxicology and Biotechnology every year. Ph.D programmes in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology & Toxicology started from 2017 and in Biotechnology from 2021

Post : Project Research Scientist I (One) (As per ICMR Project guidelines) Non- Medical

No. of position : 01 (One)

Applications are invited from Indian citizens, for a research project entitled “Lead optimization of sulfone, efloxate and adamantyl urea derivatives against drug-resistant M. tuberculosis (IIRPSG- 2025-01-00716)” under Dr. Sandeep Chandrashekharappa (PI), NIPER-R sponsored by ICMR. The position is purely temporary with a consolidated stipend of INR 56000/- per month plus HRA for the three years and (without any benefit of CCA, PF, LTC, medical claim etc.) and will be governed by the funding agency ICMR guidelines & service conditions of NIPER-Raebareli.

Salary : INR 56000/- PM + 20% HRA @11200=67200/-
Duration : 3 years The performance of the recruited Project Research Scientist 1 (One) for ICMR sponsored Project (IIRPSG- 2025-01- 00716'i will be evaluated at the end of one vear from the start of the project; and will be extended for another two vears based on satisfactory performance.

Essential qualifications : The candidates should possess (M.Pharm/ M.S.(Pharm.) /M.Sc.) in Medicinal Chemistry /Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Chemistry) or a PG degree in other relevant branch of Chemical Sciences. High academic achievement with 1st class graduate and post graduate examination with fulfillment of basic qualification. Having papers in sci-indexed journals. Candidates with GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET JRF or any other equivalent national-level qualification are preferred.

Desirable : Candidates with Ph.D. degree, having publication in sci-indexed journals, experienced in organic synthesis, characterization and purification, drafting manuscript and reports.
Age : 35 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD is as per Gol rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time).

General terms and conditions
1. The candidate must be a resident of India.
2. The candidate will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project.
3. All the candidates must be present physically for the interview along with original certificates before 9:00 AM at provided venue.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
5. Selected candidates will be informed by email about the selection within 2 weeks. Since the position is purely temporary, no demand for regular appointment/continuation of services in any other project will be entertained.
6. NIPER Raebareli reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on suitable criteria and/or not to select any candidate.
7. Selected candidate will be encouraged to apply for Ph.D. programme (In case not having PhD) as per NIPER provision in the above research area after fulfilling the required criteria as per the institute rules.
