Applications are invited from Indian nationals only for project position(s) as per the details given below for the research project under the Principal investigator Prof. Partha Roy, Department of Bio sciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee.
Title of project : Development of a novel mitochondria targeted Luteolin-Copper nanomedicine for treating non-small cell lung cancer by cuproptosis induced cell death
Sponsor of the project : Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi
Qualifications : Essential qualification : Doctorate (PhD) degree awarded in Biotechnology Biochemistry, life Sciences/ Medical Biotechnology in the area of Nanobiotechnology.
Desirable qualification : Candidates having prior experience in handling and culturing of mammalian cell lines (especially lung cell lines); synthesizing and characterization of drug loaded nano particles: analyzing the function and cell signaling in cancer cells, developing animal models of lung cancer, various molecular biology teehi and other analytical techniques like western blots. RT-PCR, immunoprecipitation assays will be preferred.
Duration : Initially for one year extendable to two years (1 year + 1 year) (based on availability of funds and progress in the project)
Emoluments : Rs, 67.000/- per month + HRA 10% @ Rs. 6,700/- per month
Job description : to design, synthesize, characterize and then biologically analyze the cuproptosis mediated anticancer properties of novel drug and copper loaded nanomedicine using suitable mammalian cell culture in vitro and rodent in vivo lung cancer models respectively. The candidate will also be responsible for day to day management of project related activities, timely preparing progress reports, management of project funds and assist PI in making UC and SE of the project related expenditures.

3. If selected the candidate will have to produce original degree(s)/ certificate(s) and experience certificate at the time of joining the said position for verification, failing to do this the offer letter will stand cancelled.
4. Preference will be given to SC / ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.
