BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (BRIC-ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from the Indian Nationals to join the following positions sanctioned under ICMR-funded projects.

Post : JRF, Senior Project Associate

Junior Research Fellow (01 Position)
Project Title : “Role of SMARCD isoforms, auxiliary subunits of human SWI/SNF complex in monocyte/macrophage immune response” (Funded by DST-SERB)
Duration of the Project : 05 months
Project Investigator : Dr. Punit Prasad

Fellowship : Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month
Eligibility : Candidates holding an M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects such as Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade point (50% for OBC/ST/SC), are eligible to apply. Candidates should have also qualified for NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE/GPAT/BET. Candidates with knowledge and experience in cell culture or molecular biology techniques, such as ChIP, RT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and NGS library preparation, etc. will be preferred.

Senior Project Associate: Bioinformatics (01 position)
Project Title : “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance.”
Project Investigator : Dr. Debasis Dash

Fellowship : Rs. 42,000/- + @18% HRA per month
Eligibility : Essential qualifications Master’s degree in in Natural or Agricultural sciences / MVSc or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognize University or equivalent and four years of experience in research and development industrial or academic institutions or sciences and technology organizations and scientific activities and services; OR Doctoral degree in science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma / MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable qualifications : Candidates with more than two years of research experience in applied biology/biotechnology/ drug screening/ bioprospecting/ microbiology/ proteomics/ mass-spectrometry or a related field of life sciences. Candidates familiar with NGS data analysis, such as Whole-genome, metagenomes and 16/18S amplicon sequencing, and with experience in programming using R-Bioconductor and Python, will be preferred. A brief write-up (one page maximum) explaining bioinformatics research experience and publications (if any) should be submitted along with the application. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified for national-level entrance tests (NET/GATE/GPAT)
