CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, is a premier Institute working under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

This Institute invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the following project-based position(s), purely on a temporary basis, under the CSIR funded project entitled “CSIR-Aroma Mission Phase-IV”. The Project is tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu (For Position Code 01 to 05) and CSIR-IIIM, Branch Lab, Sanat Nagar, Srinagar (For Position code 06 to 07)

Senior Project Associate (SPA) (05 Positions)

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Agricultural Sciences/Botany from a recognized University, AND Three years of research experience in Plant Tissue Culture/Medicinal and Aromatic Plants cultivation and postharvest management/ Plant Molecular Biology. OR Doctoral degree in Biotechnology/ Agricultural Sciences/Botany from a recognized university or equivalent AND Two years of research experience in Plant Tissue Culture/ Medicinal and Aromatic Plants cultivation and post harvest management/ Plant Molecular Biology, evidenced by scientific publications, and other Scientific activities.
Desirable Qualification : Experience in Plant Tissue Culture/ Molecular Biology Techniques/ DNA fingerprinting/ aromatic plants cultivation, and post harvest management/ organic farming, and quality planting material generation will be preferred. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.

Project Associate-II (PAT-II) (01 Position)

Essential Qualification : M. Sc in Computer Science or MCA or B. Tech in Computer Science/IT from a recognized University or equivalent. AND Two years of experience in database management, record keeping, graphic design, Photoshop, maintenance of inventories, and expertise in operating MS Office.
Desirable Qualification : Knowledge of the system and storage administration. Experience in managing computer systems. Hands-on experience in managing farmers' records during field work. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.

Project Associate-II (PAT-II) (09 Positions)

Desirable Qualification : Experience in area of molecular biology (DNA & RNA Isolation, Cloning, PCR etc), DNA fingerprinting/ plant tissue culture, and genetic transformation of plants/plant genetics/plant bio chemistry and plant physiology. OR Experience in microbial culture/ fermentation/value addition of aroma produced (Oils, Marc). OR Knowledge of aromatic plants and essential oils extraction. OR Experience of basic techniques in molecular fingerprinting/ barcoding /microbiology OR Experience in Aromatic plants cultivation and quality planting material generation. Fieldwork experience with aromatic and medicinal plants preferred. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.

Project Associate-I (PAT-I) (07 Positions)

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Botany/ Plant Breeding and Genetics/ Plant Biotechnology/ Agricultural Sciences/ B.Tech./ Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Field research experience in Aromatic Plants. The candidate will be working at CSIR-IIIM Branch Lab, and/or its various farms for the implementation of the project work. Experience in farm activities/ isolation and characterization of natural products/analytical instruments will be preferred. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.

Project Assistant-II (PA- II) ( 04 Positions)

Essential Qualification : B.Sc./3 years Diplomain Engineering/Technology
Desirable Qualification : Field work experience in cultivation, propagation and extension activities of Aromatic Plants. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Stipend (per month in ₹) : 20,000/- + HRA Increment of 15% after 3 years of experience in the same Project.

*(a) For those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. Lecturership/Assistant Professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/ Institutions.
(b) For those who do not fall under (a) above.

Mode of Selection : Selection is to be done on the basis of Interview; however, if a large number of candidates
apply, the Screening Committee may revisit the Screening criteria, if required.

General Terms, Conditions & Instructions
1) The engagement will initially be for a period of One Year or until the project duration, whichever is earlier. It may be extended or curtailed depending on the project duration, requirements and the performance/conduct of the incumbent(s).The current duration of the project is up-to Three years.
2) The Offer of Engagement to the selected candidate(s) shall be issued only after the receipt of the funds under the above project.
3) The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances shall the total tenure exceed Six years, including engagement in all CSIR labs. Performance will be reviewed periodically and unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without any notice or reason.
4) The position(s) are purely temporary and are on behalf of the sponsor and, therefore, not confer any right on the incumbent(s) to any claim, implicit or explicit, for absorption on any post in CSIR-IIIM/CSIR.
5) Candidates will have the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
6) Relaxation in age limit will be given as per Govt. of India Rules. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview.
7) Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
8) The number of positions may vary depending upon the project requirements at the time of Interview.
9) The Director, CSIR-IIIM reserves the right to not to fill any or all advertised positions.
10) Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification for the positions.
11) Candidates currently engaged in any project at CSIR-IIIM must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/ candidature/ selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.

13) No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
