The earliest known inhabitants of the region were tribals called Dasas. Later, Aryans came and they assimilated in the tribes. In the later centuries, the hill chieftains accepted suzerainty of the Mauryan empire, the Kaushans, the Guptas and Kanuaj rulers. During the Mughal period, the Rajas of the hill states made some mutually agreed arrangements which governed their relations. In the 19th century, Ranjit Singh annexed/subjugated many of the states. When the British came, they defeated Gorkhas and entered into treaties with some Rajas and annexed the kingdoms of others.

Post : Pharmacy Officer (Allopathy) (Job Trainee)

Scale of Pay : Monthly fixed amount of Rs. 18000/- (Eighteen Thousand)
Number of Posts : 18 [Gen-07, EWS-02, OBC-02, SC-04, ST-01, OBC(Antodaya/BPL)-01, SC(Antodaya/BPL)-01]
Period of probation : Direct Recruitment :-
(a) Two years subject to such further extension for a period not exceeding one year as may¬be ordered by the competent authority in special circumstances and reasons to be recorded in writing.
(b) No probation in case of appointment on tenure basis, re-employment after superannuation and absorption. In accordance with DOP instructions issued vide letter No. PER(A P)-C-A(3)-3/2023, dated 05.07.2025.

Qualification required
As per R&P Rules of Pharmacist notified vide Notification No. IIealth-A-A(3)- 13/2010 dated 16.10.2017 is as under:-
Essential Qualifications
(i) 10 plus 2 in Science from a recognized Board of School Education.
(ii) Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University or an Institution duly recognized by the Central/ State Government.
(iii) Must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of the concerned State/Central Government.
(iv) A candidate shall be eligible for appointment to Class-Ill posts(s) . if he/she has passed Matriculation and 10 2 from any School/Institution situated in HP
Provided this condition shall not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
Desirable Qualifications : Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh. Note-withstanding the provision contained in sub Rule a(i) supra the candidates who have done diploma in Pharmacy prior to 12-09-2001 and are matriculates shall not be rendered ineligible

Age Limits, if any : Between 18-45 years.
Provided that the candidates have registered their names in the concerned Employment Exchanges before attaining the age of 45 years.
Age limit for direct recruitment will be reckoned on the first day of the year in which the Post(s) is / are advertised for inviting applications or notified to the Employment Exchanges or as the case may be.

Preference will be given to Himachali candidates.
Those candidates who are not willing to serve in the interior/tribal area of Himachal Pradesh need not apply.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS
i)The candidates shall have to bring with them their degree/diplomas and certificates in original with attested photocopies thereof and also latest certificate. They shall also have to produce original certificate of belonging to SC/ST/OBC/IRDP/Ward of Ex- Servicemen issued by BDO/compctent authority concerned on the form prescribed by the HP. Government.
