CCRAS Fellowships for Pharma and Chemistry candidates at NIPER

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an autonomous institute of National importance and the first national pharma institute in NE India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

The Institute intends to fill the following Project position in CCRAS sponsored project (Collaboration with CARI Guwahati) entitled “Pre-clinical evaluation of coded drug Ayush Manas as adjunct therapy to prevent chemotherapy-induced Neuropathy and Cognitive impairment in experimental animals' through Online/ Physical Interview.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF-01) One position
Essential Qualifications : • The candidate must possess an M.S./M.Pharm. degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis / Analytical Chemistry / Quality Control & Assurance from a PCI/AICTE/UGC/NAAC recognized or accredited University/Central Autonomous Institute, with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade.
•The candidate must have qualified GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any other National-level entrance examination conducted by a Central Government agency, valid at the time of the interview/selection process.
Desirable Qualifications : 
• Hands-on experience in handling advanced analytical instruments such as HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, FTIR, and other spectrometric techniques. 
• Strong understanding of chromatographic techniques, including method development, validation, and troubleshooting for HPLC, LC-MS, GC, and TLC/HPTLC. 
• Experience in analytical method development and validation as per ICH guidelines. 
• Practical exposure to natural product isolation, purification, and characterization techniques, including chromatographic separation and spectral interpretation. 
• Familiarity with sample preparation techniques, extraction methods, and purification strategies for complex matrices, especially herbal or phytopharmaceutical samples. 
• Ability to interpret analytical data and spectra (e.g., MS, IR, UV) and generate scientific reports. 
• Basic knowledge of quality control/quality assurance (QC/QA) practices and regulatory documentation.

Max. Age limit : 32 years as on the last date of application, relaxable up to 3 years in the case of SC/ST/OBC, physically handicapped and women applicants.
Fellowship : Rs. 42,000/- + 20% HRA

Senior Research Fellow (SRF-02) One position
Essential Qualifications : The candidate must possess an M.S./M.Pharm. degree in Pharmaceutics from a PCI/AICTE/UGC/NAAC recognized or accredited University/Central Autonomous Institute, with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade. The candidate must have qualified the GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any other National-level entrance examination conducted by a Central Government agency, and the qualification must be valid at the time of the interview/selection process.
Desirable Qualifications : • Hands-on experience in the design and development of pharmaceutical formulations, including both conventional dosage forms (tablets, capsules, suspensions, emulsions, etc.) and novel drug delivery systems (NDDS) such as nanoparticles, liposomes, microspheres, etc. 
• Sound knowledge of pre-formulation studies, including drug–excipient compatibility, solubility enhancement, and stability considerations. 
• Experience in formulation optimization techniques, such as Design of Experiments (DoE), Quality by Design (QbD), and the use of statistical software. 
• Practical exposure to evaluation and characterization of formulations, including physicochemical properties, in-vitro release studies, stability testing, and analytical techniques (e.g., UV, HPLC, FTIR, DSC, SEM). 
• Experience in herbal formulation development, including extraction, standardization, optimization, and characterization of phytopharmaceutical products. 
• Basic understanding of regulatory guidelines and documentation practices related to formulation development.

Project Assistant (PA-01) One position
Essential Qualifications : Graduate degree in Science / Pharmacy / Life Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or a related discipline from a recognized University, with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Desirable Qualifications : • Hands-on experience in laboratory work, including preparation of reagents, buffers, and chemical solutions. • Familiarity with basic biochemical techniques such as protein estimation, enzyme assays, and routine laboratory analyses. • Exposure to histopathological techniques, including tissue processing, staining, and microscopy. 
• Experience in handling laboratory instruments and maintaining records/logbooks. 
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
• Ability to assist in research activities, data collection, documentation, and report preparation.
Max. Age limit : 30 years as on the last date of application, relaxable up to 3 years in the case of SC/ST/OBC, physically handicapped and women applicants.
Fellowship : Consolidated salary of 25000/- per month

General Instructions
1. Only Candidates of Indian Nationality can apply for these posts. 
2. Interested candidates are invited to apply using the prescribed format only, available on the website (niperguwahati.ac.in) from 16.04.2026 to 01.05.2026. It is mandatory to complete the application online; no other form of application will be accepted. Candidates are requested to arrange the soft copies of all the required documents before filling out the application. 
3. Candidates should read the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria, etc., carefully, laid down in the advertisement before applying for the above post. Since all applications will be screened on the basis of data submitted by the candidate in the online application form, candidates must satisfy themselves of their suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage of the recruitment and selection process it is found that candidates have furnished false or incorrect information, their candidature will be rejected. 
4. Application once submitted cannot be altered/resubmitted, under any circumstances. Further, no request to make changes to any data/ particular entered by the candidate in the application will be entertained once the application is successfully submitted by email. 
5. Incomplete applications or those without relevant supporting documents (Self-attested copies of Date of birth/Degrees/ Certificates/ Mark sheets/Experience Certificates/documents, etc.) will be rejected. 
6. On the recommendation of the Screening/Selection Committee, the competent authority may relax all or any of the requirements related to age and experience in exceptionally meritorious cases. 
7. (a) The selection for SRF-01 and SRF-02 positions will be based solely on performance in the interview. (b) For the Project Assistant position, the selection process may be conducted either through an interview alone or through a combination of a written test and interview. The decision will be made by the selection committee, depending on the number of applications received. 8. The finalized mode of selection will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates through the institute website at the time of shortlisting. 
9. Fulfilment of qualifications and experience is an essential requirement. As stated, the Institute is free to set the benchmark and call only the eligible candidates for the online interview. Further, NIPER Guwahati also reserves the right NOT to fill any of the posts advertised, in the event of exigency so decided. 
10. Intimations will be sent only by email/host on the website as per the details mentioned in the Application form. 


11. In case any dispute arises on account of the interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisement other than English, the English version available on the NIPER-G Website shall prevail. 
12. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF THE CANDIDATE. 
13. All appointments shall be on contract for one Year and may be extended for another one year based on the performance of the candidate as well as availability of the funds and tenure of the project. The appointments are for the temporary project positions and will not continue beyond the duration of the said project. Any subsequent contract in the project or another project will be a fresh appointment. The appointment in the outside-funded project does not give project staff any claim whatsoever for appointment/regularisation against any Institute 
14. Age will be calculated as on the last date of application i.e., 01.05.2026. 
15. The list of the Shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the Institute website. 
16. Candidates are suggested to attend the interview physically. In case any candidate is unable to attend in person, they may attend an online interview; the link for the same will be sent to the shortlisted candidates individually a day before the interview.
