Essential Qualification : First Class Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology OR Second Class PG Degree with Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry from a recognized university/institute
Desirable Qualification : Experience in handling advanced laboratory instruments and molecular biology techniques including Next- Generation Sequencing (NGS), CGH array, and Quantitative Fluorescent PCR (QF-PCR); data analysis skills; scientific writing; preparation of project reports
Consolidated Salary (per month) : Rs. 56,000 + 20% HRA
Project Technical Support – III - 03 Posts
Age Limit : ≤ 35 years
Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Clinical Psychology with minimum 3 years of experience
Desirable Qualification : Experience in laboratory techniques, molecular biology, and proficiency in MS Excel/data handling
Consolidated Salary (per month) : Rs. 28,000 + 20% HRA
Job Responsibilities
Project Research Scientist – I (Non-Medical) : Responsible for overall project coordination including data management, data compilation, validation, statistical analysis support, interpretation of results, and preparation of technical and scientific reports. Project Technical Support – III : To perform laboratory work, including sample processing, coordination with field centres, data collection, maintenance of records, and assisting in advanced molecular experiments.
General Information / Instructions
The above posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the scheme. The appointments are terminable with one month’s notice from either side without assigning any reason. The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment under the Government of India, or under ICMR-DHR, or for continuation of their services in any other scheme, or under the Central Government, or the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Benefits such as Provident Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, medical claims, etc., are not admissible. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, joining, or upon termination of services. The upper age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India norms, i.e., 5 years for SC/ST/female/physically handicapped candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. The upper age limit may be further relaxed for candidates with prior experience in research schemes, particularly in Banaras Hindu University. All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be given preference as per the Government of India rules.
Terms and Conditions
1. Candidates who are currently employed must submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer at the time of the interview.
2. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
3. The prescribed qualifications are the minimum, and mere possession of the same does not entitle any candidate to be selected.
4. The appointment is full-time, and private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited.
5. The selected candidate is expected to adhere to the rules of conduct and discipline applicable to the Institute.
6. The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
7. If any information furnished by the candidate is found to be false, or if any material information is suppressed, the candidate will be liable to termination of service and appropriate action will be taken by the appointing authority.
8. The decision of the competent authority regarding the selection of candidates will be final, and no representation in this regard will be entertained.
9. Applications that are incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.
10. The Competent Authority reserves the right to amend, cancel, or modify this advertisement, either wholly or partially, without assigning any reason or prior notice.
All disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Court of Law at Varanasi.
