The St. John's Research Institute (SJRI) is a part of the St John's National Academy of Health Sciences, which is run by the CBCI Society for Medical Education. From its inception, St. John's has set before it an ideal of excellence in academic courses as well as service to society as a result of which it has truly become holistic both in its outlook and in its approach to the problems of community health. In 2000, the Academy decided that its commitment to excellence in research required the setting up of an Institute that was dedicated to the pursuit of research and capacity development in St. John's. This vision encompassed improvement of health of the community and patients through research and development of a Center for Excellence in medical research in India.
Post : Research Staff - BMGF-DFS-SENSORY-STABILITY Project

Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years research experience
Preferred Qualifications : Minimum Post graduate Degree in life sciences
Brief Description about the Project : To evaluate sensitivity and specificity of double fortified salt in real world conditions.
Roles Responsibilities
• Prepare and process biological samples (blood, plasma, tissues, etc.) for analysis, and perform a range of biochemical assays such as ELISA, spectrophotometry, chromatography, and nutritional component analysis.
• Support any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI) related to the project.
• Collate, analyse, and manage nutritional and biochemical data, contributing to research publications and report writing based on study findings.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, calibration, and functioning of laboratory instruments, along with regular inventory management of reagents and consumables.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), ethical guidelines, and laboratory safety protocols during all experiments and biological material handling.
• Maintain detailed and precise documentation, including lab notebooks and research records, and ensure proper data interpretation under the guidance of senior researchers.
• Assist in field surveys, including participant screening, sample collection, processing, and analysis, with a willingness to travel for project-related work.
• Handle biochemistry-related tasks and diagnostic instruments with proficiency, ensuring accuracy in sensitivity and specificity evaluations.
