B . V . Patel PERD Centre is India's first multidisciplinary, postgraduate research institute dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the pharmaceutical sciences. Background and Objectives
There is a great demand for herbal medicines in the developed as well as developing countries because of their easy availability, wide biological activities, higher safety margin than the synthetic drugs and lesser costs. However, recently, people have started losing faith in these herbal medicines due to lack of proper knowledge about proper collection, standardization and quality control of herbal drugs. Moreover, the lack of knowledge about manufacturing procedures and quality control among herbal drug manufacturers has led to inferior quality of herbal products with little or no therapeutic efficacy. This National Conference on herbal drugs will provide an opportunity for herbalists, naturopaths, cutting - edge researchers and budding scientists to gather under one roof and discuss new findings in the area of herbal drugs and natural medicine.

Highlights
The seminar will cover an entire spectrum of topics in herbal drug research with emphasis on Good Agriculture, Cultivation and Collection Practices, Authentication and Standardization of Herbal Drugs, Formulation and Stability of Herbal Drugs, Advances in Analysis of Herbal Drugs, Advancements in Herbal Drug Research and Regulatory Aspects. A poster session will encourage the herbal drug researchers to present and discuss their research work in the scientific diaspora.
