FIFTEENTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF
CONTROLLED RELEASE SOCIETY - INDIAN CHAPTER
ON
ADVANCES IN TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS POTENTIAL OF NEW DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS
Friday 19th and Saturday 20th February, 2016

THEME
Amongst India’s prime industrial sector, the Pharmaceutical Industry currently tops the list due to the consistent progress observed in the total number of new drug launches and filings throughout the year. Ever increasing sale of generics, diagnostic and clinical trial services are the major drivers for hike in the share of pharmaceutical market every year. Skilled workforce, lucrative processes of chemical synthesis, robust legal and financial frame-work, and globalization renders it a front-runner in a wide range of specialities. Development of platform technologies serves to be a promising and exciting innovative tools leading to patent protection, thereby, providing a wide market share and also offers improved safety, efficacy and patient compliance.
Although the NCE discovery process involves huge investment of time and significant financial expenditures, development of the novel methods of drug administration, for an existing drug molecule incurs relatively lower amount of expenses. Hence, pharmaceutical companies should strive hard and explore strategies to utilise the maximum potential of a drug candidate at an early stage of its life cycle. Drug resistance, latency of infection, newer infectious diseases, sudden epidemics along with increased incidences of cancer and life style diseases have led to the need for accelerated research in devising strategies which would be more effective, pragmatic and cost effective.
Hence, the 15th CRS-IC symposium would provide a common platform to industry personnel, academicians, research scientists and students to stimulate discussions on various aspects of development and management of novel delivery systems including regulatory issues and business aspects.
Poster sessions will be conducted to provide opportunities for researchers to showcase their novelty in various aspects of drug delivery which would serve as an interactive forum between faculty, delegates and students.

SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS
Scientific Session: Speakers would present recent developments in drug delivery systems, highlight materials science and engineering, the cellular and biological response to materials, the response of various formulations to materials, and the translational considerations, with a common focus on the controlled delivery of active agents.

Poster Session: Young Scientists will have an opportunity to present a concise overview of their research study. The poster session will serve as a platform to exchange ideas and provide ample opportunity for networking.

Oral Presentations: Posters with high scientific caliber will be selected for oral presentations.

Technology Showcase: In the pursuit of benefitting delegates, the "Technology Showcase" would highlight recent developments in excipients, drug delivery technologies, process equipment and analytical instruments while providing opportunity to companies to showcase their products to professionals specializing in drug delivery.
