Applications are invited for Indian citizens for admission to the Ph.d. programmes for the session commencing from December 2013.
Ph.D (ENGINEERING): M.Tech./ME./M.Sc.(Engg.) degree in the respective or allied area. The candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology or Master's degree in Sciences in an allied area with exceptional academic record and having a valid GATE score may also apply. For Ph.D. in BSBE, candidate with MBBS, B.Pharma or M.Pharma Degree may also apply. Candidate with Master's degree in Management may apply for Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering (IME).
Ph.D. (SCIENCES & HSS): M.Sc./M.A. Degree in respective or allied area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Financial aid (Assistantship/Scholarship) is available for Ph.D students. Admission for Sponsored and Part time candidates is also open. Sponsored / Part-time candidate are not required to qualify GATE.
Application form & Information brouchure can be downloaded or personally obtained from the Academic Section up to November 08, 2013 free of cost. The hard copy of Application form & Information Brouchure will be made available from October 14, 2013.
Separate application must be filled for each programme.
Reservations (for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PD shall apply as per Government of India rules. The certificate for the same must be in the format specified. The formats can be downloaded from the links below:

NOTE: DEPARTMENTS OF PHYSICS AND DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING ARE NOT OFFERING PH.D. ADMISSION THIS SEMESTER
The application fee is Rs. 400 for General and OBC candidates, and Rs. 200 for SC/ST candidates and all PD. candidates (including General and OBC). The fee must be paid through a demand draft payable to The Registrar, IIT Kanpur payable at Kanpur.
