Invitation for the post of Junior Research Fellow time-bound DST sponsored project in JIIT

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida was established in the year 2001 and has been declared as a “Deemed to be University” under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956. The undergraduate programs of the University have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation of AICTE. JIIT’s state-of-the-art, environmentally conditioned campus comprises smart buildings with Wi-Fi connectivity covering the Academic Block, Business School cum Research Block, Faculty Residences, Student Hostels and Annapurna. Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow for the following time-bound DST sponsored project as per the details given below:

Post: Junior Research Fellow- One

Project Title: Studies on the Phylo-genomics and Population Genomics of Indian Drosophila

Project PI: Dr. Sujata Mohanty, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, JIIT, Sector,62, NOIDA

Duration: The project is valid for a period of Three years. The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis initially for a period of one year but likely to be extended solely depending on the performance.

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates called for interview.

Emoluments: 18,000/- fixed per month (consolidated)

Essential Qualifications: Master Degree in Biotechnology /Life Sciences / Molecular Biology /Bioinformatics/Genomics. Preference will be given to CSIR / UGC/ JRF/NET qualified candidates. However, Non- NET qualified candidates can also apply.

Job Description: The project involves DNA markers development, sequence generation and SNPs analysis using both bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques.
