The Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali (INST-Mohali) has been established by the Government of India as a specialized centre of excellence to promote the growth of R&D in, and exploit the application-potential of, Nano Science and Technology in the country. It is envisaged that INST-Mohali will initially focus on R&D in the areas of nanomaterials, nanometrology, nano-bio pharma, nano-medicine and on nano R&D relevant for food and agriculture. It is also expected to focus on basic research, human resource development and transfer of intellectual knowledge in the area of nanotechnology to industry to exploit its application potential. INST-Mohali invites applications / nominations for the post of Director. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with substantial experience and achievements in the area of nano science and technology and with a clear vision for a new institution dedicated to this field of research in the country.

TITLE OF THE PROJECT: Nanoparticle-mediated inhibition of PRDX2 for selective killing of CHEK2-defective colorectal cancer cells by synthetic lethality
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR: Dr. Rehan Khan, Scientist-B
QUALIFICATION:
Essential: M.Sc./M.Tech degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Bioscience/Nano Sciences & Nano-technology with strong desire to work in the area of Cancer Nanomedicine.
Desirable: Candidate having working experience in Western Blotting, immunohistochemistry, mammalian cell culture, animal model will be preferred.
AGE LIMIT: Must not be over 28 years as on 8th Feb 2018 which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.
SALARY: Rs.25000/- (consolidated) for JRF with NET/GATE and Rs.14000/- + HRA (20%) for PA without NET/GATE.
ENGAGEMENT PERIOD: Initially for one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate for next 4 months.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of one and a half year years. The position is co-terminus with the project.
Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
