The zilha Parishad of Sangali, The establishment of the Zilla Parishad could be regarded as the culmination point in the achievement of the goal of Local Self-Government. Prior to that, local autonomy was enjoyed in different degrees at the district, taluka and village levels. The Local Self-Governing units were provided by the District Local Board and the village panchayats. The progress of these institutions was in three spheres since the achievement of independence by India.
