Job for Masters degree in Life Sciences to work in research at PGIMER
The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab. After the reorganization of the state, the administrative control of the institute passed on to the Union Territory of Chandigarh in November 1966. The Institute became an autonomous body under the Act of Parliament in 1967 functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Application are invited on the prescribed format for the below mentioned posts in DBT- project entitled “ Placenta as a site of HEV replication and the role of inflammasomes and cytokines in the immunopathogenesis of HEV in pregnant women” under Dr. R K Ratho, Professor & Head, Department of Virology.
Junior Research Fellow
Essential Qualification: Masters in Life Sciences with minimum 60% aggregates in post-graduation.
Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates with CSIR-UGC NET. ICMR JRF/NET, GATE. DBT, BET qualification and experience in basic molecular biology techniques
Upper Age Limit: 28 years
Lab Assistant -01 position
Essential Qualification: BSc (MLT)/B. Sc. in any branch of life sciences along with basic knowledge of common laboratory techniques.
Desirable: Candidates with expericnce/exposure in immunohistochemistry staining techniques will be preferred.
Upper Age Limit: 28 years
Remunerations: As per DBT rules

The engagement in the project is purely on contract basis. Interested candidate fulfilling the above conditions are required to submit their complete bio-data duly signed and enclosing therewith attested photocopies of ccrtificates/testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification, exposure, etc. and affixed with latest photograph on it by 6lh February 2018 before 5:00 PM in Room No. 608, 611' Floor, Research Block-A, PGIMER, Chandigarh and to appear for personal interview along with Original Certificates in Department of Virology, Room No. 628, 6,h floor, research Block A, PGIMER. Chandigarh on the date to be specified in PGI website in due course of time.

The selection committee reserves the right to shortlist the candidates on the basis of a screening test in case more number of candidates appears for the post
