OMC, a Gold category State PSU and being one of the largest State PSUs in Mining Sector in the Country, undertakes exploration, mining and trading of Iron, Chrome, Bauxite & Lime stone ores. The ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre, Bhubaneswar is a permanent research centre of Indian Council of Medical Research. The foundation stone of the centre was laid by the then prime minister of India Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi on 29th March 1981.Initially the Center started in a small rental accommodation in 1982 and shifted to the Centre’s own building in year 1990 after completion.

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003.  Institute of Life Sciences has a broad vision of carrying out high-quality multidisciplinary research in the area of life sciences.

College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Puri (CPS, Puri) conducts D. Pharm, B. Pharm. and M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis programs which are affiliated to Biju Pattanaik University of Technology (BPUT). The courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education and recognised by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
