Southern Railway, in its present form, came into existence on 14th April 1951 through the merger of the three state railways namely Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway, the South Indian Railway and the Mysore State Railway.  Southern Railway’s present network extends over a large area of India’s Southern Peninsula, covering the states of Tamilnadu, Kerala, Pondicherry and a small portion of Andhra Pradesh. Serving these naturally plentiful and culturally rich southern states, the Southern Railway extends from Mangalore on the west coast and Kanniyakumari in the south to Renigunta in the North West and Gudur in the North East.

Age as on 01.01.19 : 20 to 35 years

Medical Classification : C2

Educational Qualification :
10+2 in Science or its equivalent with Diploma in Pharmacy from recognised institution and registered as Pharmacist under the pharmacy act 1948,
OR
Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from a recognised university or equivalent and registered as a Pharmacist under the pharmacy act 1948.

Candidates should ensure that they possess/fulfil all eligibility conditions prescribed for the post as on the closing date of submitting application

Note :
1. Relaxation of 5 years of age for SC/ST candidates.
2. Relaxation of 3 years of age for OBC Non Creamy layer candidates.
3. Relaxation of 10 years of age for Person with Disability candidates [Only Posts of Lab Asst. suitable for PWD (OH, HH) candidates]

Examination Fee:
Candidates applying for the Para Medical Posts on full time contract basis in response to this notification have to pay the prescribed fee online as detailed below:
For UR / OBC candidates, application fee is Rs.500/-. Of this fee, an amount of Rs.400 shall be refunded to candidates appearing the screening test. No refund will be given, if candidates do not appear in screening test.
For SC / ST / PWD / Women/ Economically Backward/Minority Candidates, application fee is Rs.250/-. Full refund of Rs.250/- shall be made to all such candidates on appearing the screening test. No refund will be given, if candidates do not appear in screening test.

Monthly Remuneration :
Basic Pay (Rs) : Rs 29,200/-
Total Emoluments including all allowances (approx.*) : Rs 46,130/-

*Please note that this is only an approximate amount payable at Chennai area and is liable to change from city to city.

The Process of engagement of Para Medical Staff (on full time contract basis).
There will be a Screening test consisting of 50 objective type questions (in Hindi, English, Tamil and Malayalam) to screen the eligible applicants for engagement of Full Time Contract Para Medical Staff for the notified vacancies. The duration of the test will be 45 minutes. The mode of screening test will be written / online. No change of time, date or venue of screening test will be entertained under any condition. Candidates are further advised to visit rrcmas.in frequently to get the latest information and updates on dates of screening test, results etc.

Call letters intimating date, time and venue of the screening test will be made available for download at rrcmas.in. No intimation will be sent through post. Candidates are advised to keep their personal mobile number and personal valid e-mail active, as communications may also be made through SMS/E-mail

The list of Candidates to be engaged will be based on the merit position in screening test, subject to the extent of notified posts and reservation rules.

General Conditions :
1. The engagement of the Para Medical Staff would be on the full time contract basis for a period of one year or up to 30.06.2019 (if the scheme of engagement of Paramedical Staff on contract basis is not extended) or till regularly selected RRB candidates are available whichever is earlier.
2. The services rendered as Para Medical Staff on contract basis is a stop gap arrangement and will not have any bearing in respect of consideration of their period of service in case of regular selection through RRB.
3. Full time Contract Staff who enters into contract with the Railways will not have any claim or right for his/her regularisation or absorption in Railway service.
4. During the validity of contracts, the Railway Administration will be at liberty to terminate the contract by giving 15 days’ notice at any time during the contract without assigning any reason whatsoever. The contract shall also be terminated forthwith if the work of the Contract Staff is found to be unsatisfactory and the full time Contract Staff is found to be mentally or physically incapacitated.
5. Candidates proposed to be engaged on contract will be subject to Screening Test and medical examination and should be found fit in the medical classification mentioned vide Para II.
6. Candidates may please note that they are liable to be posted in any of the Hospital in Southern Railway.
7. The detailed instructions with regard to the duties shall be given to the applicants who are selected, along with the offer of engagement.
8. The SC/ST/OBC candidates should submit a self-attested copy of the caste certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed proforma. OBC candidates must ensure ‘non creamy layer’ certification and such certification should not be more than one year old at the time of Document Verification.
