That the Tata hospital is a classic example of public-private partnership.

The nerve center currently connects four cancer hospitals in India, and helps doctors discuss complex cases through videoconference. Plans are underway to start the digital nerve center at 108 cancer hospitals under National Cancer Grid. The move will prevent patients, especially from the northeast and west of Bengal, from traveling distances to Mumbai.

"Under the national health policy we are also trying to combine allopathy with Ayurveda and yoga to see if it is possible to alleviate the side effects of allopathy, such as chemotherapy or radiation in cancer patients," Modi said.
