MoU between India, Lanka on traditional medicines receive approval by Cabinet

The Cabinet of the Union approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between India and Sri Lanka in traditional medical systems. The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of AYUSH and the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicines of Sri Lanka will enhance bilateral cooperation in traditional medicine and homeopathy, an official statement said.

The Ministry of AYUSH, as part of its mandate to propagate Indian medical systems worldwide, has signed memoranda of understanding with 11 countries, namely China, Malaysia, Trinidad and Tobago, Hungary, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mauritius, Mongolia , Turkmenistan, Myanmar and Germany.

 

Finances for conducting research, training courses, conferences and meetings under the MoU will be covered with existing budget allocations and existing AYUSH Ministry plan plans.
