Job Description:

It is not expected that the candidate know everything about these subjects or about the end to end development process as appropriate assistance will be provided by others in the department, as may be needed. Additionally, except for any standard preformulation work, the projects could be novel for everyone (not just for this candidate), hence the candidate will have to be someone who assumes the role of the key person making the project happen by conducting the work that he/she is capable of or gets trained by us to do. Hence, someone with strong scientific and leadership skills would be a minimum requirement. The role is an exciting one for anyone who wants to use his/her strong scientific strengths on interesting and novel work within a progressive, learning department that works on western work ethic.

Desired Profile:
• At least two-three years in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry desired so that the person has a reasonable understanding of what preformulation, formulation, pharamcokinetics, and product development entails. Exposure to either preformulation or material characterization will be a plus.
• Pharmaceutical Inclination: He/she should either have enough experience in a pharmaceutical company or should have enough understanding of the pharmaceutical development process from preformulation onwards, to be able to understand and decide what needs to be done on any project, without much supervision.
• Teamwork, Communication, and Interpersonal skills: Should be able to work well with multidisciplinary teams in discovery and development (synthetic chemists, polymer chemists, biologists, formulators, analysts, business development, etc, and must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Science-orientation: As the position will require the person to juggle a variety of work that is not confined to a particular discipline, we understand that we can not find a person who knows everything. Hence, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding science and the scientific method who can apply good scientific principles and combine them with the minimum requirements of development.
• Academic: Strong academic record coupled with a practical and get-it-done mentality.
• Doctorate degree would be preferred, but is not a must.
