Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976  with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.

Post: Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow/Research associate in CSIR funded research project

No. of Post: One (Either one of JRF or SRF or RA will be filled based on the qualifications)

Applications are invited for the post of JRF/SRF/RA (one position) in a CSIR Research Scheme Project (38(1360)/13/EMR-II) entitled “Development of salinity and/or drought stress tolerant Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) plants by overexpression of p68 (Ddx5) RNA helicase gene” sanctioned to Dr. Sarvajeet Singh Gill.

Minimum Qualification:
Junior Research Fellow: M.Sc. Life Sciences / M.Pharma / M.Tech (Biotech.) with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test
Senior Research Fellow: M.Sc. Life Sciences/M. Pharma/M. Tech (Biotech.) with 55% marks, minimum two year Research Experience + Publication
Research Associate: Ph.D degree in any discipline of Life sciences

Stipend: The fellowship/stipend will be made as per CSIR guidelines.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The post is purely temporary and is coterminous with the project.
