CSIR - National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier plant science research institute, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI:-

Area I: Molecular Biology & Biotechnology

Research Associate
Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Botany/ Life Science/Bioinformatics / Microbiology/ Genetics
Desirable Qualifications : Experience in molecular markers, genetic mapping, QTL analysis , molecular biology techniques and other computational data analysis.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.36000/- p.m. + HRA

JRF (Project)
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology / Biochemistry with CSIR / UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF / LS / GATE qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications : Experience in Tissue culture work.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/p.m.+ HRA

 

SRF/PA III
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. with 55% marks in Botany/Microbiology/Bioinformatics with 2 years research experience (in NGC analysis) and atleast one publication in SCI Journal or M.Tech with 55% marks in Bioinformatics
Desirable Qualifications : Experience in NGS analysis or Knowledge of medicinal plants/ chemotaxonomy/field botany.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.18000/- p.m.+HRA Or Rs.18000/- p.m.

Project Assistant Level –II
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. with 55% marks in Botany/Biotechnology/Life Science/Plant Science
Desirable Qualifications : Experience in molecular biology
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/p.m.+ HRA

• The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of RA in the project entitled “Development of consensus genetic linkage map for Gossypium L. spp. With SNP markers and QTL analysis for fiber traits ” & following or other projects if needed.
• The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of JRF in the project entitled, “Exploring a novel role of SkMSMI and SkR2R3-Myb315-like transcriptional regulators in development of prickle in Solanum khasianum” following or other projects if needed.
• The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of SRF/PA III in the project entitled, “Studies on genome wide epigenetic variations in natural populations of west Himalayan Arabidopsis thaliana along altitudinal gradient” or “Search for Elite Chemotype(s) of Centella Asiatica and their relationship with ecogeography” following or other projects if needed
•  The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of PA II in the project entitled, “Epigenetical effect of Arabidopsis thaliana of West Himalayan population in response to elevated CO2 for adaptive advantage” following or other projects if needed

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects.
a) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc.
b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day.
c) The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co- terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability/provision of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.
d) In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute.
e) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview No TA/DA will be admissible.
