About the department :

GSC Finance was established in 2007, is currently responsible for supporting Accounting, Finance & Procurement, Financial Planning & Analytics for Head Quarters, Region Europe, North America, International Operations & Global Service Centre Bangalore. Marketing Analytics is a part of Financial Planning & Analytics (in GSC Finance) and was founded in June 2013 with the idea of establishing a team consisting of dedicated marketing and analytics professionals. Through data analytics and insights, the unit supports the decision making process of the stakeholders across IO (International Operations), NNI (Novo Nordisk US affiliate) and Head Quarters (Denmark), spanning Marketing and Commercial effectiveness functions. Ambition is to mature into a one-stop Marketing service desk for reporting & analytics. Marketing Analytics aims at offering services across the sales and marketing spectrum to all geographies, by nurturing marketing talent for Novo Nordisk in accordance with the NN way. The main purpose of our existence is to provide superior service to our stakeholders consistently and add value to the processes in terms of standardisation and efficiency.

The Job:
Key responsibilities:     

- Responsible for developing advanced scalable analytics solutions and drive critical business decisions to support the global organisation    
- Support product launches and programs in the company aimed at enlarging penetration and market share of key brands    
- Support the global pricing and market access functions in decision making as well as monitoring and reporting    
- Build, lead and inspire team towards becoming a strategic lever for the global organisation


Main job tasks:
Responsible for driving the unit in developing advanced scalable analytics solutions, as well as supporting the global organisation in making critical business decisions     
* Design, manage and deliver all aspects of custom qualitative and quantitative marketing research projects, and develop analytical solutions to support strategy    
* Lead the strategic development of analyses for core analytic processes within Marketing, as well as Pricing and Market Access functions to drive better fact based decision making    
* Developing and maintaining high quality recurring reports, and make fact-based recommendations to the supported areas    
* Create post-campaign response tracking and return on investment as well as a more detailed campaign response analyses.    
* Interpret large amounts of raw data into coherent information and respond decisively to current and forecast trends in consumer behaviour, sales trends and market conditions

Drive unit in supporting pre-launch, launch and post-launch to enable the company’s key brands to gain penetration and share     
- Support on market access analyses – monitoring access rates and price developments across regions and Business Areas. Propose access strategies. Support on health economics    
- Conduct competitor and market analysis - evaluate market potential, support annual brand plans, product mix plans, suggest deployment plan for sales operations, in order to ensure achievement of annual business plans     - Drive market research / pilot studies - identify innovative approaches, conceptualize and design campaigns, track progress and take corrective measures in order to ensure higher product sales and return on investment for marketing activities    
- Support product launches and programs to establish company’s key brands to gain penetration and share

Support strategic recommendations to key business questions, based on research results     

  • Create and foster strong strategic partnerships with global stakeholders    
  • Proactively identify key opportunities and challenges across the supported business units and propose appropriate analytical approaches to address them.    
  • Act as a reliable, trusted and unbiased consultant by considering wider issues, structure the complex data analysis to “tell the story”, and when needed argue the viewpoint, listening to all views, collaborate on the right solution, and synthesize recommendations coherently 

Build, lead and inspire the marketing analytics team     

  • Recruit high performing, high potential personnel to the unit    
  • Contribute to building a high performing, high impact team, which inspire commitment and confidence of senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization    
  • Provide direction and manage the work processes and output of team of analysts    
  • Ensure that the highest level of quality in deliverables are met by all team members    
  • Provide effective and timely feedback and inputs for the overall development of the team members

Qualifications:     

  1. MBA marketing/commercial/M.Pharm, solid management experience and pharma marketing exposure    
  2. Should have 8-12 years Pharma marketing experience with at least 2-3 years in analytics, previous experience in diabetes care and biopharmaceuticals would be an advantage    
  3. In depth knowledge of sales operations, Market Access/Pricing and marketing process; sound understanding of knowledge in areas of therapy    
  4. Experience and understanding of launching specialty brands or new indications, leveraging IMS databases, understanding pharmaceutical pricing in different markets, hospital/account-based targeting and segmentation methods    
  5. Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, with demonstrated experience in analysing complex situations, collecting data, effectively synthesizing the analytics/data to form a complete, cohesive picture
