Recruitment for Master Degree in Life Sciences at National Institute of Malaria Research - Multiple post | Govt. of India

National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) was established in 1977 as 'Malaria Research Centre', which was renamed as 'National Institute of Malaria Research' in November 2005. NIMR is one of the institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (an autonomous body under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India). The primary task of the Institute is to find short term as well as long term solutions to the problems of malaria through basic, applied and operational field research. The Institute also plays a key role in man power resource development through trainings/workshops and transfer of technology.

The following purely temporary positions are to be filled up in DST and ICMR funded projects.

PROJECT 1: CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE & VECTOR BORNE DISEASES
Duration: Five years (initially for one year).
Research Scientist (Non-medical) (One)
Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent with two years of research experience in relevant field. OR Second class Masters Degree in Life Sciences with PhD Degree from a recognized University in relevant field.
Desirable: I. Research experience in the field of climate and vector borne diseases II. Knowledge of computer applications and analytical skills, etc.
Salary: Rs. 54300/pm- (Consolidated including 30% HRA)
Age Limit: 35 years

Research Associate (Two)
Essential Qualification: PhD in Life sciences/Earth sciences from a recognized University or equivalent or having Three years of experience in Research & Teaching in relevant field after Post Graduation.
Desirable: I. Experience in GIS/ Remote Sensing softwares. II. Knowledge of computer applications and analytical skills.
Emoluments: Rs. 36000/pm + 30% HRA
Age Limit: 40 years and for women 42 years

 

Senior Research Fellow (Two)
Essential Qualification:
1. Post Graduate degree in Life sciences/Earth Sciences with NET qualification
2. Two years of Research experience in relevant field
Emoluments: Rs. 28000/pm + 30% HRA
Age Limit: 35 years

Junior Research Fellow (Four)
Essential Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Life sciences/Earth sciences/
Environmental Science with NET qualification OR postgraduate degree in
professional course.
Emoluments: Rs. 25000/pm + 30% HRA
Age Limit: 30 years

PROJECT 2: VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT AND ADAPTATION MEASURES TOWARDS POTENTIAL IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON MALARIA IN HOT SPOTS OF INDI
Duration: Four years (initially for one year).

1. Scientist –C (Non-medical) (One)
Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent with four years of research experience in relevant field.
OR
Second class Master’s Degree in Life sciences/Environmental sciences with PhD Degree from a recognized University in relevant field with four years research experience in relevant field.
Desirable:
III. Research experience in the field of climate and vector borne diseases
IV. Knowledge of computer applications and analytical skills etc.
Salary: Rs. 51000/-(Consolidated) +30% HRA
Age Limit: 40 years

Scientist –B (Non-medical) (One)
Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Environmental sciences from a recognized university or equivalent with two years of research experience in relevant field. OR Second class Master’s Degree in Life sciences/Environmental sciences with PhD Degree from a recognized University in relevant field.
Desirable:
I. Research experience in the field of climate and vector borne diseases
II. Knowledge of computer applications and analytical skills etc.
Salary: Rs. 48000/- + 30% HRA
Age Limit: 35 years

Research Associate (Two) sciences
Essential Qualification: PhD in Life sciences/Earth Sciences/Environmental Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent or having Three years of experience in Research & Teaching in relevant field after Post Graduation.
Desirable: III. Experience in GIS/ Remote Sensing softwares. IV. Knowledge of computer applications and analytical skills.
Emoluments: Rs. 36000/- + 20% HRA
Age Limit: 40 years and for women 42 years

Research Assistant (Two (One-SC, One-OBC)
Essential Qualification:
1. Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Earth Sciences/Environmental Sciences or Graduate degree in science from a recognized university with three years of work experience
Emoluments: Rs. 31000/- (Consolidated)
Age Limit: 30 years

PROJECT 3: EL NINO SOUTHERN OSCILLATION BASED FORECAST MODEL FOR MALARIA AND DENGUE IN INDIA Duration: Two Years (initially for one year).
Research Associate (One)
Qualification: PhD in Earth Sciences/Environmental Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent or having Three years of experience in Research & Teaching in relevant field after Post Graduation: I. Experience in GIS/Remote Sensing softwares. II. Knowledge of computer applications and analytical skills.
Emoluments: Rs. 36000/- + 30% HRA (Consolidated)
Age Limit: 40 years and for women 42 years

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY OF FOCI OF VISCERAL LEISHMANIASIS IN HIMACHAL PRADESH
Duration: 2.5 years (initially for one year).
Senior Research Fellow (One)
Essential Qualification: 1. Post Graduate degree in Life Sciences with NET qualification 2. Two years of Research experience in relevant field
Emoluments: Rs. 28000/- +HRA
Age Limit: 32 years

Eligible candidates may walk in for personal discussion at ICMR-National Institute of Malaria Research, Sector-8, Dwarka, New Delhi-110077 as per the schedule given below, along with their Bio-Data, self-attested photocopies and originals of documents and testimonials supporting educational qualifications and desired experience for verification. Candidates already in employment should also bring a No-objection certificate (NOC) from their employer. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/women candidates is as per Govt. rules.

3. Upper Division Clerk (Project 2), Data Entry Operator (Project 1), Lab Attendant (Project 1 and Project 2), Field Attendant (MTS) (Project 2, and Project 4), Insect Collector (Project 2) - on 11th May 2017

Note: If the number of eligible candidates is more than 30, a written test will be conducted for each post. Reporting time strictly 10:00 am to 10:30 am on 5th May 2017 and 8th May 2017. Reporting time 09:30 to 10:00 am for Upper Division Clerk and Data Entry Operator and 02:00 to 02:30 pm for Insect Collector, Lab attendant and Field Attendant on 11th May 2017. No candidate will be entertained after the reporting time.
