The Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world. The ICM R is funded by the Government of India through the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Council's research priorities coincide with the National health priorities such as control and management of communicable diseases, fertility control, maternal and child health, control of nutritional disorders, developing alternative strategies for health care delivery, containment within safety limits of environmental and occupational health problems; research on major non- communicable diseases like cancer, cardiovascular diseases, blindness, diabetes and other metabolic and haematological disorders; mental health research and drug research (including medicinal plants and traditional remedies).

Shoolini University, Solan

Location: Situated in the Shimla Hills, Shoolini University has a sylvan campus on the Oachghat Kumarhatti Road (Himachal State Highway 6) at an altitude of about 1500 meters. It is 15 km from Solan, 54 km from Chandigarh and 18 km from Dharampur. The University is easily approachable by road from Delhi, Chandigarh and Kalka. The nearest airport is at Chandigarh and Shimla, and nearest broad gauge railway station is at Kalka, while closest narrow gauge rail station is at Solan.

Target Audience: Professionals from plant based and Herbal Pharmaceutical Industry, Academics (Assistant/Associate Professor level), PhD scholars Number of Participants: 40 (To be divided into two groups of 20 each for training programs)

Registration fee: Rs. 2000/- (Refundable on successful attendance in workshop)
